Turn Off Your Lights For World Earth Hour!

Everyone has a part to play in shaping our world for the future, and 2021 begins  an important decade for our climate and nature. This year millions of people around the world will switch off their lights for an hour on Saturday 27th March to show they care about the future of our planet. Earth Hour 2021 – What’s new this year?

Deep Forest

It’s certainly been a challenging year for all of us and for me, art has been a huge inspiration and motivation, more so than ever with my passion for highlighting the beauty of our world.  Art can save conservation issues from being a subject that people tire of. It can clarify and catch people unawares, conquering their apathy. My memories of the vibrancy in countries I have been lucky enough to visit, from Cameroon to Costa Rica, echo throughout my work in both subject matter and colour. Where would we be without the beauty and intensity of nature and wildlife around us?

You don’t have to be in the depths of the Amazon to appreciate this. As spring arrives the days are longer, the sun is brighter and nature unfolds. The World Wildlife Fund is a charity I support and they are asking us to take part this year and sharing this message can be a huge help. It is exciting, invigorating and inspiring – we must try to help the world around us to continue with its vibrancy. So, If we can all turn off our lights for one hour to make our point it will encourage the world’s decision- makers to listen, Let’s all do our best to help save our planet!
